This is a new Khmer rock.
The band is called Coconut. This is the new generation. Very different...
******************UPDATE*****************
Ok guys... I want to rep for all guys from Thailand who are over proud...
First, I''m from France, I was born in Paris. I''ve got khmer origins but I''m not into khmer culture. I discover that video which is different from old khmer bored rock from 90s.
Come on, this video was posted 3 years ago...
Honestly I really don''t care about this band coconut or whatever khmer "rock" band.
It is probably true that it''s a copy.
But please, shut the f*ck up...
Don''t blame us. Don''t forget, Cambodia was deeply injured by civil war for many years and our culture was frozen. Don''t forget before that, in the 60s, we had our OWN musical style, the Cambodian Rock/Pop which was inspired from Us and UK rock/pop music and "mixed" with our traditional music. That sounds like Western and psychedelic/garage rock. That was unique and from our country... So what do you have?
Think about it, before developing a unique style of music, people from everywhere in the world (that include you, Thailand) had to copy first from the others in order to learn...
So don''t blame us, I''m sure you''ve got a copy of music from the US, Japan,... Eight years ago, I visited BKK for the first time (I''m from France), and what the fuck... I heard a thai version of a song from Blink182. Ashamed????
Come on, think about the style of your rock music too. It''s a copy from mainstream US rock style. Most of you listening to "fake" punk pop/rock or worst... screamo for emo fag. EPIC FAIL. That style is for pre-teens and already dead in the US/UK/FR/GER... Did I mention that is not a thai-rock? Think about it... It''s a kind of copy (Coconut and khmer rock like this are copy of mainstream punk rock too, I never deny that).
I don''t blame Thai culture. I''m probably sure that you, thai, have indie bands. I don''t know them yet (please don''t hesitate to tell me some name, I''m open-minded). I know that Cambodia has some indie band too, but it''s very marginal and I think that it will take many years to be developed.
I''m just answering for people who comment my video and tell me that I don''t have a brain.
Sorry guys but I''ve certainly more culture that you, emo fags...
So please, EMO, stop being over proud of your "thai" rock band (which is "fake" american rock).
Tell me when you''re developing (or just listening) your own indie style music which be innovative like TV On The Radio from the US, The Knife from Sweden, etc.
Stop blaming Khmer people... We had our own style before, it was frozen and I''m sure they will develop interested music by themselves.
